AUW uses its best efforts to respect the privacy of its online visitors. We do not collect personally identifiable information from individuals unless they provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. This means we do not require you to register or provide information to us in order to view our site. The information we receive depends on what you do when you visit our site.

If you visit our site to read, or download information such as publications, forms, video and graphics, we collect and store the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet; the Internet protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using; the browser software you use and your operating system; the date and time you access our site; and the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site.

This information is used to determine the number of visitors to the different sections of our web site. We use it to make the site more useful. The information is usually deleted from the web server after a year.

AUW only gathers personally identifiable data, such as names, addresses, zip/postal codes, e-mail addresses, etc, when voluntarily submitted by a visitor. For example, personally identifiable information may be collected in order to respond to a stated desire to volunteer time to AUW, or to make a donation online. This information is used solely by AUW or other entities who are involved in the operation of this site for internal purposes. AUW lists are never sold to third parties. We will only share personally identifiable information with third parties when the person submitting the information authorizes us to share it or we are required by law.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption technologies or SSL when transferring and receiving payment data. We have security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information that we have collected from or about you.

Limitation of Liability

The AUW website provides a number of applications and video entertainment on its web site as a service for its federation of 62 partner agencies and the public. Site visitors that are interested in volunteering their time and/or in-kind gifts are asked to provide their name and e-mail address to the non-profit organization requesting the service. By using the AUW website you agree not to hold AUW liable for any damages whatsoever, and in particular AUW shall not be liable for special, indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, or damages for lost profits, loss of revenue, or loss of use, arising out of or related to any AUW website or the information contained in then, whether such damages arise in contract, negligence, tort, under statute, in equity, at law or otherwise. AUW reserves the right to make changes to information on this website without notice.

AUW welcomes children to learn more about our organization and, where appropriate, find opportunities to serve their community through AUW programs and volunteer activities. However, we encourage this to be done only with parental knowledge and supervision.

Children should ask for their parents permission before sending any information about themselves to us or anyone else over the Internet. NOTE: You must be thirteen (13) years of age or older to sign up for any of our programs.
