Partners

Aloha United Way maintains a special relationship with 97 Partner Agencies. These Partners undergo close scrutiny of their operations and financial management to earn recognition as a Partner of Aloha United Way. Because of this additional oversight, you can donate to our Partner Agencies with a high degree of confidence that your donation will be used wisely and will deliver the maximum possible service to the community.

Aloha United Way works with a wide variety of nonprofit organizations to advance the common good in our island community. There are several different funding relationships and nonprofit agencies are eligible to receive funds in two ways:

  • Donor Choice - Funds are designated by donors to their favorite charities.  Agencies  do not have to be a Partner Agency to receive designated contributions, but they must operate as a 501 (c) (3), and provide a health or human service.
  • Impact Funding – A group of community volunteers from both the public and private sectors, recommend funding for agency programs and initiatives that will make the greatest impact on our community through one of our five impact areas – early childhood development, crime and drug use, emergency and crisis services, financial stability and independence, and homelessness.
